What is Retatrutide?
Retatrutide is an investigational triple-receptor agonist that activates three metabolic hormone receptors: GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon.
Unlike therapies that act through one or two of these pathways, retatrutide is being studied for its combined activity across all three. This mechanism has generated significant interest in research surrounding body weight, glucose metabolism, and broader cardiometabolic health.
Retatrutide is currently in Phase 3 clinical development. Clinical studies have evaluated its potential across obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other metabolic conditions.
In clinical research, retatrutide has been administered once weekly by subcutaneous injection. The molecule remains investigational and is not currently an approved medicine.
